Brigitte Matschinsky-Denninghoff
(1923 - Berlin - 2011)
Brigitte Matschinsky-Denninghoff was born on 2 June 1923 in
Berlin. From 1943 to 1944, she studied sculpture at the
the State Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin.
Between 1946 and 1947, she continued her studies at the
Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1948 she worked
she worked as an assistant to Henry Moore. In 1949 she was
founding member of the artist group ZEN 49.
1950 she studied under Antoine Pevsner in Paris. In 1953 and 1954
she worked as a stage designer in Darmstadt. In 1955 she married
Martin Matschinsky. Between 1957 and 1958 she was head of the
of the sculpture department at the Staatliche Werkakademie in Kassel.
She was a member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund.
Brigitte Matschinsky-Denninghoff died in Berlin on 11 April 2011.
